Landing a salmon at McIntoshes Hole on the Waimakariri River, near Christchurch 2 February 2008

Hook up at McIntoshes Hole. The crowd begins to gather. Watching some one land a salmon is almost as good as catching it yourself! This little trout spinning reel was made in France. The angler tells us he purchased it when he was 18 years of age. Both angler and reel are still working pretty well. A good hook-up with the zed spinner in the upper jaw of the salmon.
