Salmon anglers fish the point, near the top of the tide, at the mouth of the Waimakariri River on Sunday 25 March 2007. The best salmon fishing in the Waimakariri River this season has come in the last two weeks of March! Up until then salmon numbers had been quite low. If you want to catch a salmon in this river now is the time to cast your line.
The river can be quite wide here especially at high tide. Use ticers or Double Zed Spinner for extra depth and casting distance.
