This salmon jumped well clear of the water six times. Experienced anglers knew immediately that it would likely be foul-hooked! The fish, which would have been about 10kgs, being held steady in the water to revive it before being released. It swam away hopefully to spawn! The Waimakariri has been fishing well with reasonable numbers of fish up to about 20 pounds being caught regularly.
