The "Rangi," as it is affectionately known to most anglers, is a typical braided river similar to the Rakaia but with lower flows, often below 100 cumecs in high summer. The Rangi is greatly affected by water taken to irrigate farm land. Despite the wrangles over water the "Rangi" still offers some of the best salmon fishing to be found in New Zealand. |
