Dr John Kent is a retired general medical practitioner with over 50 years fishing experience. In Classic Fly Fishing In New Zealand Rivers he travels to many of New Zealand's world famous wilderness trout fishing rivers in pursuit of big fish. John Kent talks about each river, how to get there, and offers his advice on tackle, flies, and fishing methods.

He is accompanied on his journey my renowned professional photographer David Hallett. The photographs in Classic Fly Fishing In New Zealand Rivers are truly outstanding.

The reproduction, and printing standard is very high with each picture jumping up off the page in celebration of New Zealand's spectacular back country scenery. Many an angler will read this book and think if only I could go there, whilst others will be inspired to fish these rivers at least once in their lives. I guess this is a large format "coffee table book." It should be left out for it's owner and visitors to examine at leisure rather than be put away on a shelf to gather dust.

The rivers listed in the North Island are: Raukituri, Mohaka, Tauranga-Taupo, Tongariro, Tangitikei, Ngaruroro, Rangitaiki.

The rivers listed in the South Island are: Motueka, Karamea, Wairau, Buller, Maruia, Grey, Rough, Tekapo, Ahuriri, Hunter, Greenstone, Lochy, Mataura, Oreti, Eglinton and the Clinton.
