Kawau Island Snapper Almost as Big as Fisherman!
Huge Snapper Landed

Korbyn Barratt, aged just six years, caught this huge 16.8 pound snapper while fishing off Kawau Island on his grandfathers boat "Huntaway" Mum Kirsty had to hold the bottom of the rod, while Korbyn's uncle had to hold onto his jacket to prevent him from being pulled over board by the mighty fish.

Korbyn wound the fish in all by himself and was a very proud boy! The big snapper weighed in at 16.8 pounds. Korbyn's fish was the heaviest caught on the day. Amazingly Korbyn has been fishing since he was just two years old and astounds fishermen that a young child can cast, reel and fish just like anybody else.

Congratulations Korbyn from the team at FishingMag.co.nz. That sure is one mighty big snapper you have caught there!
