Skate Takes the Perch

This skate was caught off the fishing charter boat Takapu while fishing out of Kaikoura on 5th of March. Fantastic trip, plenty of blue cod and sea perch.

The skate may have been after the already hooked sea perch. Note the very deep blue colour of the ocean off the Kaikoura coast. Return to Deepsea
